Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits Full Time, Contracted Role up to 12 months About the Role As an Acute Surgical Unit Registrar, you will play a key role in the timely and accurate assessment of patients presenting with acute surgical conditions. Working as part of a dynamic acute general surgical team, you will manage referrals from the Emergency Department, inpatient wards, other hospitals, and general practitioners. You will collaborate closely with SET trainees, surgical fellows, and consultants to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient clinical decision-making and appropriate surgical management. In this role, you will also contribute to the ongoing care of emergency surgical patients, including ward-based management and assisting in theatre as required. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with current general registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia. Proven experience in acute surgical settings, with strong clinical decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to change and maintain productive working relationships with diverse healthcare teams. Sound knowledge of quality improvement principles, patient rights, risk management, and public hospital administrative practices.
