Superior HDD are searching for a General Manager / Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will primarily be situated at our Wollongong (Yallah) office, however Superior HDD completes projects at various job locations primarily around NSW.
Superior HDD is a growing Horizontal Directional Drilling company working on large and complex Civil, Water, Telecommunication, Electrical and Railway projects. We have multiple drill crews running with rigs from 30,000lbs up to 330,000lbs. At Superior HDD you will be given the opportunity to work with a motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable team.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced General Manager. Experience and knowledge in the HDD industry is preferable but not essential. The successful applicant will have previous general managerial experience and be able to prioritise the growth of Superior HDD and coordinate with the managing directors. This role is integral to the success of the business and will work collaboratively alongside the directors and a support team. The role of the general manager will oversee field operations, project execution, financial performance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Bring a range of fresh ideas and concepts aiding business growth and improvement
* Identify organisational gaps to drive and target growth opportunities
* Have involvement and assist in managing projects from acquisition to handover
* Oversee project bidding, estimating, scheduling, and execution to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
* Manage financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key industry partners
* Implement systems and governance to support scale
About You
* 8+ years experience in a General Manager, Business Development or Senior Development role
* Proven experience across the development of previous organisations
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
* Confident leader with excellent stakeholder management ability
* Background in either civil construction or HDD preferred but not essential
