Assistant Category Manager - Grocery
Blackmores Group is hiring an Assistant Category Manager for Grocery for a 12-month fixed‑term role as a leave replacement.
The role involves assisting in the development and implementation of the Grocery channel strategy for Blackmores in Woolworths and Coles. Key deliverables include channel unit/sales/share growth, winning range reviews, promotional effectiveness and objective category partnerships.
This position reports to the Head of Category Development for Grocery and will work across our NSW sites – Warriewood and Surry Hills – 3 days per week in office and 2 days from home.
Responsibilities
* Ensure timely and accurate execution of tasks that enable strategic initiatives.
* Work closely with Category Managers, Sales, and Marketing to maintain alignment and clarity across initiatives.
* Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that influence decision‑making.
* Track and evaluate promotional activity, including ROI, and support post‑event reviews.
* Assist in building and optimising planograms and shelf layouts to maximise product visibility.
* Model and validate volume projections for new product launches and scenario planning.
* Develop and update dashboards, trackers, and presentations for internal and retailer meetings.

Who You Are
* Bachelor's degree in business, economics, commerce or a related discipline.
* Minimum 2 years in category management, customer‑facing or shopper marketing type roles within FMCG, retail, or consumer healthcare and pharmacy sectors.
* Experience working within the grocery retail or FMCG retail environments is preferred.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with customers and key internal stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success working in fast‑paced environments with cross‑functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
* Familiarity with space planning software and planogram tools is an added advantage.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and support commercial decision‑making.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights and influence stakeholders.
