We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our Finance team at Lorna Jane HQ located in Eagle Farm. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Reporting in to the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for leading a small team including a Senior Payroll Officer.
In this integral role, you will work closely across all payroll services ensuring issues and risks are managed as well as business improvements are embraced and compliance is achieved.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Manage end to end payroll processing of fortnightly and monthly pay cycles across Australia and New Zealand
- Award interpretation across multiple awards
- Payroll administration, including onboarding of new starters, terminations, Leave processing, and maintain employee records
- Supervise and support the Senior Payroll Officer, providing guidance and training as necessary to ensure the team's efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to address payroll-related inquiries, resolve issues, and implement process improvements
- Running various payroll audits to ensure accuracy of Payroll Processing, statutory legislative compliance, etc
- Proactively keeping abreast of relevant legislative changes to ensure ongoing compliance
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and efficiency enhancements within the payroll function
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar role, ideally in the retail industry
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, and regulations in Australia
- Experience in DayForce and Employment Hero is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of Payroll legislation in New Zealand highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
