Grader Operator - Clermont
Join our crew as a Grader Operator - shape the roads that shape our community! An opportunity exists for a permanent full-time Grader Operator to join our team in Clermont. Located about 100 kilometres from Emerald, Clermont is a small agricultural and mining community that prides itself in its picturesque local scenery, rich history and various recreational activities. As our Grader Operator, you’ll be one of the key players in keeping our region connected. This is hands‑on, practical work with real impact. If you like seeing the results of your effort at the end of the day, you’ll fit right in.
Your days might include:
* Operating graders, plant, and equipment to construct, maintain and improve local roads
* Shaping and smoothing surfaces that locals drive on every day
* Pitching in with other duties when required - because we’re a team, and we get things done together
* Helping keep our fleet in top shape, using your mechanical know‑how to spot issues early and minimise downtime
* Taking pride in your work, knowing that what you build today will support the community for years to come
What you’ll bring to the team:
* At least 12 months of demonstrated experience operating a grader
* A solid understanding of basic mechanics and general maintenance
* Proven initiative and motivation, with the ability to work independently
* Experience in road construction and maintenance grading operations
* A strong commitment to safe operation and care of plant equipment
Mandatory Requirements:
* Valid MR Licence (HR, HC, or MC highly regarded)
* Grader Operations certification
* Construction White Card
If you are successful in this position, you will receive:
* Salary $68,968.27 - $71,319.68 per annum plus allowances
* Nominally 76 hours per fortnight with a great roster – have a long weekend every week!
* 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
* RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
* Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy
