Are you ready to make a tangible impact on the infrastructure that supports our communities? Step into a hands‑on role where your contribution will help shape a safe, sustainable future for the region.
About the role
As the Construction Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our region by supporting the delivery of critical water, sewerage, and recycled water infrastructure. Key to this role will be ensuring land development projects are constructed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry and Barwon Water standards.
In this dynamic role, you'll be the eyes and ears on the ground—overseeing construction phases, ensuring compliance with specifications, attending audits and testing, and guiding contractors toward high‑quality outcomes. Your input will influence how projects are delivered, contributing to the safe, sustainable water systems our communities rely on.
You'll work collaboratively with a high‑performing, cross‑functional team that thrives on innovation, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality. Your efforts will directly support Barwon Water's vision for regional prosperity, ensuring our growing communities benefit from resilient, sustainable infrastructure.
Travel may be required for this role so a current drivers license will be required.
About you
A developing professional, you thrive in a hands‑on environment, bringing a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset. You communicate clearly and purposefully and enjoy building strong relationships with contractors, colleagues and other stakeholders to achieve safe and effective outcomes.
Comfortable working through complex issues, prioritising tasks and supporting others, your growth mindset and practical problem solving will shine through in this role. You'll value growth and development and the team will support your continued career journey.
Your experience in civil construction will be tested daily and may be supported by qualifications in engineering or a related field. You understand the complexities of infrastructure projects and confidently navigate technical requirements, compliance expectations and construction methodologies.
