Overview
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. We are seeking a Senior Asset Officer – Community Utilities to join the Utilities Planning and Design team. In this role, you will coordinate the strategic management of Council's water, wastewater and waste assets to support the delivery of Council's objectives. You will lead a small team to manage asset systems and data, support the development of asset management policies, strategies and plans, and provide technical advice that informs Council's Resource Strategy and Delivery Program.
Responsibilities
* Lead a small team in managing Council's Utilities asset systems and data.
* Collate, interpret and report on asset information to support planning, grants and financial reporting.
* Manage capitalisation and revaluation of Utilities assets in line with Council policies.
* Oversee GIS layers and integrate specialist system data into Council's asset database.
* Coordinate asset condition surveys and incorporate results into Asset Management Plans.
* Provide expert technical advice on utilities asset management matters.
Qualifications
* Diploma qualification in an engineering, information technology, finance or auditing (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above). Qualifications below Diploma level may be considered with other relevant industry experience.
* Experience managing Asset Management Information Systems (AMIS) and asset databases.
* Experience in asset data collection and condition assessment (e.g. sewer CCTV, water main break reports, wastewater overflow data).
* Knowledge of asset capitalisation, valuation, and reporting processes.
* Experience managing and updating GIS datasets.
* Ability to analyse and interpret asset data for reporting and planning purposes.
* Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams.
Remuneration And Benefits
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
Salary: Starting from $87,269.51 to $97,681.56 depending on skills and experience plus 12% super

The Utilities Planning and Design team sits within the Community Utilities Division and is responsible for the custodianship of a diverse utilities portfolio valued at over $1 billion. This includes water and wastewater treatment plants, transfer and reticulation networks, and waste management facilities. The team is dedicated to ensuring these essential assets meet technical and legislative requirements while supporting the needs of our growing community and economy.
