About This Job
Position Information
Mount Austin High School is located on Wiradjuri Country, in Wagga Wagga. The school is co-educational and caters for students from Year 7 to 12. The student population is diverse. There are approximately 540 enrolments, of whom 47% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 10% are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. There are 5 special education classes catering for range of disabilities. A focus of the school is building effective relationships, both among peers, staff and with our wider community. * Approval to teach Music 7-12 (MUS)
* Proven ability to design and deliver dynamic and engaging teaching programs that cater to a wide range of student interests, wellbeing needs and abilities.
* Ability to implement engaging and effective teaching strategies that cater for the educational needs of students with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities including students that identify as Indigenous.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
