Fitters - Mobile and Mill Maintenance
7/7 Roster | Permanent Full Time | Residential based in Broken Hill NSW
Broken Hill Mines is seeking skilled Underground Fitters to join our Maintenance and Mill teams, providing reliable and safe mobile plant support to underground mining operations at Rasp Mine, Broken Hill.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will safely carry out high-quality preventative and correctivemaintenance on underground fixed plant equipment, ensuring assets remain fit for purpose while meeting safety, environmental, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, repairs, strip-downs, rebuilds and fault finding on underground fixed plant equipment.
* Complete statutory mechanical checks in line with site and legislative requirements.
* Identify, report and rectify equipment defects and damage.
* Contribute to preventative maintenance schedules, shutdowns and continuous improvement.
* Accurately record work orders, parts usage and maintenance history in Pronto.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping underground and on surface.
* Participate in pre-starts, safety interactions, handovers and shift meetings.
* Actively support WHS initiatives, hazard reporting and compliance with site procedures.
* Work collaboratively with production and mining teams to support operational targets.
About You
* Relevant Australian trade qualification (Fitter / Mechanical Trade).
* Current Australian Driver's Licence (manual).
* Underground maintenance experience on fixed plant (highly regarded).
* Strong safety focus and proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to pass pre-employment medicals, including lead monitoring requirements.
* Full Australian work rights.

About Broken Hill Mines
The Rasp Mine is an operating silver-lead-zinc mine in Broken Hill, with a large Mineral Resource and a 750,000tpa processing plant. The mine has operated for over 120 years, producing zinc and lead concentrates sold globally. The Pinnacles Mine, situated 15km southwest of Broken Hill, is known for containing one of the area's highest-grade and shallowest silver-zinc-lead deposits. Despite being largely undeveloped, small-scale historical mining has occurred over the past 120 years. Broken Hill Mines has recently acquired the Rasp Mine and secured a Joint Venture option for the Pinnacles Mine to consolidate the two operations and create a leading and long-term base metals operation.
