Offer description

We're looking for a talented and reliable Pastry Chef to join our team in Spotswood on a permanent part-time basis. This role is focused mainly on croissant and Viennoiserie production, with some variety across other pastry work. You'll be hands-on with laminating, shaping, proofing, baking, and finishing, while also contributing to seasonal and signature creations.

Rostered days & hours:

* Wednesday: up to 5–6 hours (production prep & pastry work)
* Thursday: full day
* Friday: full day
* Saturday: 5–6 hours (mainly service support & finishing)

Important: Candidates must be available for early morning bake-offs (from 5:00 AM) to ensure pastries are ready fresh each day.

What you'll be doing:

* Producing croissants, Danish, and other Viennoiserie to a consistent, high standard
* Laminating, shaping, and baking with precision and care
* Supporting broader pastry production (cakes, tarts, choux, seasonal items)
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
* Working closely with our small team to meet production timelines

What we're looking for:

* Certificate III in Patisserie, Commercial Cookery, or Baking (or equivalent qualification) with at least 1 year of pastry kitchen experience
* OR minimum 2 years' hands-on pastry kitchen experience (croissants/Viennoiserie highly regarded)
* Strong technical skills and attention to detail
* Proven ability to work efficiently under time pressure whilst maintaining quality standards
* Reliability and flexibility, with the ability to work early mornings (starting as early as 5:00 AM)
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg safely
* A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
* Passion for pastry and a desire to grow with our brand
* Full working rights in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency)
* Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles
* Demonstrated experience with laminated dough techniques, specifically croissant and Danish pastry production
