The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our Pacemaker Service at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. Working 0.1 EFT, this position is ideal for a clinician looking to contribute to a high-quality electrophysiology service within a major tertiary and teaching hospital.
The role alternates weekly between two core areas:
* Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (3.5 hours/fortnight): Focused on pacemaker implantation and device-related procedures
* Arrhythmia Clinic (1 session/fortnight): Involving consultation, diagnosis and management of patients with complex arrhythmias
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a respected, multidisciplinary cardiology team known for its commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and collaborative care.
Classifications for this position will range from HN15 - HN55( $113.05 - $147.73 per hour) excluding super.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform pacemaker implantation and contribute to a safe and efficient cath lab workflow
* Diagnose and manage arrhythmias through specialist outpatient consultations
* Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions to enhance patient outcomes
* Participate in quality assurance, procedural documentation and departmental meetings
* Support education and training of junior medical staff and cardiology trainees
About You
You are a highly competent and collaborative cardiologist with:
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology
* Subspecialty training and experience in pacemaker and device implantation
* Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated experience working in a tertiary hospital environment (desirable)
* A patient-first, evidence-based approach to clinical care
