We believe every young person deserves safety, stability, and the opportunity to reach their potential. As a Child and Youth Worker, you'll support children and young people in care to feel safe, build confidence, and develop the skills they need for the future. You will do this by:
* Supporting daily routines such as meals, school, and activities.
* Creating moments of connection through sport, hobbies, and community.
* Providing calm, trauma‐informed care during challenging moments.
* Helping young people build life skills, confidence, and independence.
* Being a consistent, positive role model they can rely on.
About you
You don't need a formal qualification to apply. You just need to care, be a good listener, and be willing to learn.
You're someone who:
* Stays calm under pressure.
* Connects easily with young people.
* Sets boundaries while showing empathy.
* Is flexible, resilient, and ready to learn.
What you'll need
* Experience working with or supporting young people in a professional or volunteer capacity.
* A current South Australian driver's licence (P2 or above).
* A current Working with Children Check (South Australia).
* A current First Aid Certificate – HLTAID012 (Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting).
Non‐negotiables
There is a mandatory 8‐week full‐time induction program when you start the role.
You must be available to work across a 24/7 roster, including AM, PM, or night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Night shift only rosters are available.
What you'll get
* Shift penalties apply, which can increase your salary by up to $15,000 per annum.
* We pay for you to attend TAFE to complete your Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention during your first year of employment.
* A Residential Care Allowance for non‐casual employees applies after your first year if you have the required Certificate IV qualification.
* 12% employer contribution to your Super.
* Up to 5 weeks annual leave (for full‐time employees) plus relevant leave loading.
