The role
Overview
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS6 Strategic Communications Officer to join their Internal Communications team.
12‐month initial Labour Hire contract with prospect to extend. This is an APS6 level position paying $60.26 per hour plus superannuation.
To be based out of Geelong, this is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home and 3 days on site, 37.5‐hour work weeks.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Champion plain English and ensure all collateral is accessible and aligns with the client's style and branding guidelines.
- Lead through example, serving as a trusted communications expert, helping key internal stakeholders and business partners deliver the objectives of each project.
- Draft clear, concise and effective messaging for different audiences, including creation of talking points and speeches.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of communication plans, progressing approvals and coordinating go‐live collateral.
- Identify and develop important internal stakeholder relationships, addressing and resolving any emerging challenges with stakeholders.
- Evaluate the impact of communications, identify learnings and determine whether objectives for each project have been achieved.
- Support team members with administration, technical and procedural tasks.
Qualifications
- Australian citizenship required.
- Team leadership experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement experience.
- Positive attitude towards disability.
- Government experience highly regarded.
