Department of Health Tasmania – Launceston TAS

Renal Services (THS - North) has an acute haemodialysis unit at the LGH and an outpatient Satellite Renal Unit, based in Kings Meadows. The NUM is based at the LGH and has oversight of both services. This ANUM position is important to both sites, as it provides assistance to the NUM, with the day to day management, operation and coordination of human and physical resources - to provide optimal patient care to patients requiring renal replacement therapies and support. Renal Services North provides: Haemodialysis; Home dialysis therapies; Renal Transplantation pre and post work-up and follow-up, as well as CKD education and supportive care.


The Role:

Primary purpose - The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) - Renal Services, is an experienced Renal Nurse, with clinical leadership knowledge and skills, and who will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care, as well has human resource coordination - staff replacement; staff redeployment between LGH and KM renal. The ANUM needs to be willing to act up in the NUM role for periods of leave relief.


You will need to:

1. Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill (support to staff) to ensure clinical standards, policies and procedures are followed.
2. Assist and support the NUM in the development and maintenance of a strong, collaborative, professional team environment, which promotes a positive culture and contemporary nursing leadership.
3. Support the NUM in their decision making, regarding cost effective and efficient approaches to managing resources, and collaboratively support the NUM to explain business decisions to staff.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.


Salary:

$106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type


Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
