Position Summary
This is a permanent, full‐time position. Based in Salisbury but may require travel to customer sites in the Greater Brisbane area. You will prepare and cut floor, wall and roof timber, install fire‐rated doors and perform custom kitchen installations.
Key Accountabilities
* Install floor panelling using both chemical and physical fixings.
* Cut and build timber wall studs, erect and fix in place.
* Prepare and cut roof panels to required sizes, fixing with impact driver.
* Determine job requirements by studying drawings and blueprints.
* Cut MDF wall paneling with plunge saw and attach to walls using brad nailer; trim with timber battens.
* Hang and fit swinging doors, both fire‐rated and non‐fire‐rated.
* Install exterior doors (weather‐sealed) and windows.
* Carry out custom kitchen installation and alterations as needed.
* Cut timber and composite decking to size and fit to metal frame; trim with aluminium flashing.
Your Application – Requirements
* Equivalent to Australian Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery or higher qualification.
* At least 5 years of work experience as a carpenter / joiner.
* Advanced ability to read blueprints and accurately calculate complex set‐outs, with no margin for error.
* Experience installing fire doors and frames.
* Experience using CAD and SOLIDWORKS to design and edit drawings.
* Experience operating computer‐controlled lathes.
* Experience operating a forklift.
* Proficiency with a variety of equipment, including saws (drop, circular, chop, slide), Makita models LS0815FL, DHS900Z, HS0600, DSP600, DLS714, HSO116, LW1401, LS1040, and blower DUB185Z.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making skills.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will have a total remuneration package of $93,184 comprising a base salary of $83,200 plus 12% superannuation.
