Yarrabilba State Secondary College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our Wellbeing and Student Services Team.

This pivotal role focuses on enhancing student engagement, wellbeing, and academic success within a supportive school environment.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 30 hours per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide tailored support to students, addressing individual needs to promote positive educational outcomes.
* Collaborate with teachers, guidance officers, and external agencies to develop and implement effective student support strategies.
* Assist in monitoring and improving student attendance, behaviour, and overall engagement.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of programs aimed at enhancing student wellbeing and resilience.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support activities.
* Participate in school events and initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive school culture.

Desirable Skills And Qualifications

* Demonstrated experience in supporting students in an educational setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of child development and strategies to support students' social and emotional needs.
* Proficiency in record-keeping and report preparation.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about best practices in student support.
