Currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer in a permanent capacity to join their well-established team, and work with the broader global purchasing team!
**The Role**:
The Purchasing Officer to support the procurement process. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you'll evaluate suppliers, prepare purchase orders, and coordinate with various departments to ensure timely material delivery. With a focus on inventory management, contract negotiations, and cost reduction, you'll play a vital role in optimising efficiency and enhancing supplier relationships.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain documented processes and procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
- Research new suppliers and obtain quotes for materials
- Familiarity with MRP systems and the ability to interpret forecasts and raise orders accordingly
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor and optimise stock holdings to meet business requirements
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
- Attend team meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale
- Resolve invoice queries and maintain data integrity in ERP system
**Successful applicants will hold**:
- Certificate IV or above in a related field or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 3-5 + years of relevant work experience
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in ERP and MRP systems
- Ability to negotiate effectively and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments with a background in electrical engineering is advantageous
