Your role at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital
This is a pivotal role in generating revenue (via additional patient activity) and efficiency (via list optimisation) for the Hospital. The post-holder will build strong relationships and work effectively with a range of important stakeholders including: visiting medical officers (VMO's), their Practice Managers & staff, patients and caregivers.
The Position- Execute ad-hoc allocations ensuring all stakeholders are aware- Support the DDON Perioperative Services to identify and manage leads to proactively pursue targeted Specialists- Proactively seek future utilisation in order to support productivity of procedural services- Proactively build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with procedural VMO's and their Practices- Compile and distribute allocation of ad-hoc availability for Main Theatre and Endoscopy- Manage orientation and on-boarding processes to support newly accredited surgical specialist practice staff- Be a conduit for both VMOs and procedural services to foster effective communication of desired outcome- Demonstrate strong customer service focus for VMO's and other key stakeholders- Foster transparent communication with other relevant departments- Develop strong collegial relationships with other managers and caregivers- Maintain transparency between theatre booking information and procedural services across the patient journey- Monitor the quality and accuracy of data- Maintain a register and calendar of leave dates for visiting medical officers (VMOs)- Support the Deputy Director of Nursing (Perioperative Services) with managing the efficiency and usage rates of theatres and allocations of permanent sessions- Provide structure and guidance for VMOs for prioritising patient flow
You will have a minimum two years' experience, preferably in a health care setting with Admissions, scheduling and/or bookings. You will have well-developed time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise a workload to meet operational deadlines.
To succeed you will have a demonstrated ability to build collaborative and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders and well-developed leadership and communication skills including negotiations, mediation, conflict resolution and problem solving.
