Role Summary
We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. As an early-career practitioner, you will make a real difference in the lives of people living with disability by helping them and those around them.
You will focus on enhancing quality of life, reducing behaviours of concern and promoting the rights of people with disability. You will work as part of a team including practitioners, a team leader and clinical advisors, to support people with evidence-based practice along with developing your own knowledge, skills and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a degree level qualification of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern. They will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to work positively in a multidisciplinary team and possess excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support clients (NDIS participants), along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
* Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
* Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
* Ensure individual plans reflect our clients' goals, passions and strengths
* Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family, carers, friends, etc

* You will participate in fortnightly learning prepared by Advanced and Specialist practitioners focusing on every aspect of our work, plus have access to our learning library of over 100 resources
* You will prepare an individualised Compulsory Professional Development (CPD) plan and Supervision Agreement with your supervisor to plan out your journey from 'suitable' to Core and through to Advanced level of suitability as a practitioner
* You will be supported by your clinical advisor and clinical leadership team to advance in practice specialisation, leadership, case management or any aspect of your work you see as your focus area
