 
        
        About the Role 
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Practice Assistant to join our Melbourne Dispute Resolution team on a 6-month contract, providing dedicated support to Partner Samantha Kinsey and the broader Dispute Resolution group. This is a full-time, 6-month contract opportunity for someone who thrives on taking initiative, anticipating needs and ensuring the smooth running of a busy practice. With exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, you will keep things one step ahead. 
- Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents 
- Managing diaries, inbox and travel arrangements 
- Building and maintaining solid client and internal relationships 
- Handling billing, expenses and reporting 
- Matter management, including opening/closing files, archiving and electronic/physical filing 
- Producing documents and collating briefs to counsel 
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and can balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
About You 
To succeed in this role, you will bring: 
- At least 3 years' experience in a legal support role (Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary) 
- Strong knowledge of the billing process in a legal environment – Elite 3E experience is highly regarded 
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities 
- Typing speed of 70+ wpm 
- Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
- Robust problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail 
- Clear and confident communication, with the ability to adapt style to your audience 
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and collaborative approach
