Casual staff – Facilities Management

Our Facilities Management team is dedicated to ensuring a safe, efficient, and inviting environment for the UniSC community, with roles spanning building maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial services, and facility planning to support operational excellence. 
Responsibilities 
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on university buildings, systems, and equipment to ensure optimal functioning. 
- General groundskeeping duties, including landscaping, gardening, and exterior maintenance. 
- Coordinate custodial services to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across facilities. 
- Assist in facility planning and project management for new constructions, renovations, and space optimization. 
- Contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce the university’s ecological footprint. 
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments. 
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing and resolving facility-related issues reported by students, staff, and visitors. 
Desirable Qualifications or Skills 
- Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field. 
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC). 
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently. 
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities. 
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices. 
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools. 
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach. 
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
