**About the infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service - ICYMHS**
**Austin Health Mental Health Division (MHD)** provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria. Services in the Mental Health Division are located across Austin Health and the community.
All mental health services work within a clinical framework that promotes recovery-oriented practice and supported decision-making. This approach to client wellbeing builds on the strengths of the individual working in partnership with their treating team. It encompasses the principles of self
- determination and individualised treatment and care.
The Infant Child and Youth Mealth Health directorate provides clinical and developmental inpatient and community mental health services through the following service units:

**About the role**
The Level 2 Carer Consultant will support the service to improve and expand carer engagement in co-design projects across the service and support the implementation of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System's recommendations, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act, and any other relevant projects.
A regular day will see you:
- ** Support carers with their young person who are accessing ICYMHS**:
- ** Work with other leaders on co-designing and implementing service improvement initiatives**:
- ** Support and work with other lived experience workforce employees**
**About you**
The Carer Consultant is pivotal in bringing the perspective and voice of the carer to the broader system and will work to build participation of families and carers in consultation and co-design within ICYMHS
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- ** Significant personal lived experience as a consumer who has accessed area mental health services**:
- ** The ability to work with and advocate for the needs of carers of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, and abilities**:
