As the Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key sewerage service initiatives to inform the sewerage system strategic plans, ensure long-term regulatory compliance, and pursue opportunities in support of service outcomes.Lead holistic planning for Melbourne Water’s wholesale sewerage services, including recycled water, integration with metropolitan water company sewerage services, and other water services. Lead activities relevant to enterprise goals related to sewerage services.Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders related to sewerage services, including recycled water. Drive effective collaboration to support initiative development, long-term planning, and strategy, ensuring the team is well-positioned to influence activities impacting service delivery and strategic objectives.Identify, investigate, evaluate (including developing concept designs and trials/pilots where required), and support the development of business cases for future capital assets, operational activities, planning controls, and other initiatives that could enhance sewerage service management.Provide clear, evidence-based advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding sewerage services.Maintain a sound understanding of trends in local and international sewerage systems, sewage treatment practices, regulations, and policies to inform medium- and long-term planning.Manage external service providers, technical consultants, and contractors.Manage budgets accurately and contribute information to support business planning.About You Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent.Strong understanding of strategy development and long-term planning.Deep knowledge of sewerage systems and sewage treatment.Experience fostering cross-organization and cross-industry collaboration for sewerage and recycled water initiatives.Proven expertise in developing and implementing initiatives, strategies, and plans.Technical leadership skills in sewerage services, especially in recycled water, energy, and decarbonisation.Ability to confidently and persuasively communicate technical information to diverse audiences, including senior executives and board members, in both written and oral formats.At Melbourne Water, we care about water and all life that springs from it.Our people are fueled by passion, and with safety at the forefront, we have an unwavering sense of purpose, and are on a mission to protect every Melburnian’s way of life, one drop at a time.We walk the talk when it comes to flexible working – but that’s not all.
