For H&F Transformation, Engineer needs to go onsite and perform transformation activities as per instructions from customer network team.
This is logical work but console cable, laptop, 16GB USB pen drive and screwdrivers can be required.
RE IP will be done by Customer Network team and onsite technician will follow instructions like reboot devices take pictures check device state etc.
Laptop, console cable, 16GB USB Pen drive, screwdrivers and drill required
network team will provide instructions when technician is onsite
Respective hardware will be available at the site for installation. Onsite Hands and Feet resource will provide tools to perform work (e.g., screwdriver set, cable toner, console cables, laptop with Putty, ladder, Velcro, cable ties)
High level staging activities
§ Unpack the devices
§ Install any modules required
§ Install rack mount kit
§ Rack switch(es)
§ Install switch stack cables
§ Install switch power stack cables
§ Connect to the network
§ Power on devices
§ Verify power on checks (POST)
§ Ensure device can download patches
§ Label the devices with provided hostnames
§ Apply provided asset tags
§ Document
o Device type
o Serial Number
o Asset tag
o Hostname
§ Provide screenshare for console access of new devices when required during staging and cutover
§ Disposal of Packaging on site as specified
§ Functional acceptance test-Check for all the devices if they are working properly
§ Perform proper cable management
§ Take pictures
Activities For Migration/cutover per device category
§ Actual cutover from existing setup to the proposed setup.
§ Move cables from as is state to the proposed state.
§ Apply configuration changes to switches.
§ Functional testing:
o Check for all the applications if they are working properly
o Hands and Feet support for the devices if required**
