The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia seeks an analytical, detail-oriented and supportive Financial Operations Supervisor to provide day-to-day support and direction to the financial operations team.
This role ensures that financial practices comply with legal, statutory and accounting best practices and established financial policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage the financial operations team to ensure compliance with legal, statutory and accounting best practices.
* Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
* Provide guidance and training to employees on financial policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and minimize disruptions.
Requirements:
* Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration or public administration plus at least three years of progressive accounting and financial administration experience.
* At least one year of experience in a supervisory/team lead role.
* Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a parliamentary or public sector environment.
* CPA designation or current CPA enrollment.
* Experience using an ERP system such as Workday.
