About the role:
Westgold Resources is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to lead the safe and efficient extraction of gold at our underground Beta Hunt Operations. This pivotal role will see the successful incumbent lead a team of junior Mining Engineers to develop and deliver safe, efficient production plans covering drilling, charging and remote bogging activities.
This role will be based at Beta Hunt Mine – Kambalda and offered on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
The Beta Hunt Mine is owner-operated using conventional underground mining methods. The mine is ramping production rates to 2Mtpa with increased mined material transported through a newly constructed second decline.
The role includes:
Plan, supervise and implement weekly drill and blast activities with a focus on operational excellence
Schedule, own, plan and manage the 3MS process using Deswik IS
Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of drill and blast standards to optimize recovery and minimize dilutions
Promote a high-performance culture by actively coaching, engaging with and providing feedback to Production and Graduate Enineers
Assist the Mining Manager/Alternate with a range of operational and technical tasks, including fulfilling statutory responsibilities when required
Support daily underground operations and contribute to achieving production targets through sound engineering practices
What do I need?
Strong level in mining software (Deswik IS, Deswik CAD, Deswik UDGM, VEntsim) and Microsoft tools to support Production and reporting
Tertiary qualification in Engineering
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
Attention to detail and accuracy
People Management skills
Strong report writing and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to take a strategic approach to the continuous improvement of services to achieve the best outcomes for the organization
Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class C Driver's License
National Police Clearance – 12 month validity
