About the Role
As we gear up for the next federal election, we’re looking for a Campaign Project Assistant to lead the planning and execution of our election campaign. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact by advocating for the policies and supports carers need most.
This role will implement, coordinate, and deliver Carers Australia’s election campaign. You’ll bring strong project management expertise, a communications background, and the ability to roll up your sleeves to ensure smooth execution. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, managing external contractors, and keeping the campaign on track to meet its objectives.
Reporting to the National Director Communications, you will :
* Implement the campaign plan, including timelines, deliverables, and budgets within the project management software framework, ensure milestones are met, and risks are mitigated.
* Collaborate with the communications team to craft campaign messaging, collateral, and engagement strategies.
* Work within the team and with stakeholders to amplify the campaign’s visibility across digital, media, and stakeholder channels.
* Support the CEO with talking points for advocacy meetings.
Qualifications : Relevant qualification in communications or project management.
Experience : Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, preferably in communications, advocacy, or a campaign setting. Experience managing external contractors is desirable. Experience in political campaigning / lobbying is desirable.
Technical skills :
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear messages.
* Soft skills : A willingness to take a hands-on approach to deliver campaign tasks, attention to detail, and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Experience with Canva and Asana.
You will be rewarded with a highly attractive salary of $80,000 Pro rata, plus super, plus salary packaging.
