About the Business

Our Youth Justice and Inclusion Support team is responsible for tertiary elements of the youth justice system, including custodial and community-based supervision and support. Through program and service development and delivery, they help children and young people with their rehabilitation and to reconnect with their family and culture.

Role Details
Join our Community and Aboriginal Partnerships (CAP) team as a Senior Occupational Therapist, reporting to the Clinical Manager.In this specialist role, you will provide expert occupational therapy assessment and intervention for young people with complex needs within the Youth Justice (YJ) system.You will lead the development and delivery of tailored individual and group interventions, contributing to multidisciplinary approaches that support rehabilitation and community integration.As a key member of the team, you will provide clinical leadership, guiding staff, families, carers, and external stakeholders through case consultations and collaborative partnerships.Your work will involve comprehensive assessment, detailed reporting, and culturally appropriate practice that respects community, kin, and family safety.This role offers the opportunity to influence practice improvement, program planning, and resource management within YJ and across the CAP division, while building strong, effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.If you are a dedicated occupational therapist passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with complex needs, we encourage you to apply.

Special Conditions

Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Essential Qualifications:

Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OBTA); and

Must hold and maintain registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Screening Checks
