This is a full-time ongoing position within the animal management sector. The role is responsible for undertaking activities to meet the Council's animal management responsibilities and delivering efficient customer service.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist the community in achieving and implementing corrective actions related to animal confinement, behavior, and care.
* Attend on-site situations requiring resolution to protect community safety, such as livestock wandering, dog attacks, animal welfare complaints, patrols of dog parks, and securing roaming dogs.
* Participate in an after-hours roster to respond to telephone enquiries and provide emergency animal management services.
* Maintain records and systems related to the position.
* Manage enforcement cases from start to finish, including follow-up, preparing recommendations for panel meetings, and updating databases.
* Provide advice and education to external customers on animal management issues, responsible pet ownership, and related laws.
* Assist the animal management team with legislation and policy development.

To succeed in this role, you should be willing to undertake activities related to animal control duties and provide effective customer service by responding to animals at large and collecting dogs and cats.
Requirements
You will need to undergo relevant screening, including a Working with Children Check and criminal history check. You must also have the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team environment.
