About The Role
We are looking for a catering assistant for one of our Lidl Distribution centre sites. Working pattern: 08:00 – 18:30 Saturday and Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
* Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
* Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment – cleaning utensils, tableware, and catering stations
* Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that food and supply storage areas are organised
* Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs; general assistants may also act as a host/waiter when needed at events
* Top up vending services
What We Are Looking For
* Commercial kitchen experience highly valued but not essential
* Basic catering and hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent desirable but not essential; we can provide this training
* Excellent time‐management skills and ability to work under pressure
* Excellent organisational skills
* Can stand for extended periods, as the job is physically demanding
Ideal Candidate Criteria
* Right to work in the UK
* Food hygiene course at Level 2 desirable but not essential; training provided
* Excellent customer service skills
* Good time‐management and organisational abilities
* Driving licence preferable due to remote site
