About the role
There are two full-time or part time (negotiable hours) available. The positions are fixed term until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension and can be based in either Queanbeyan or Bega.
As a Peer Worker in our Next Steps team, you will work within the Grand Pacific Health (GPH) mental health teams to provide open and effective support to people accessing or considering connection to GPH mental health services.

Duties
* Strengthen the support provided to people accessing the program with their own lived experience of suicidality and/or mental ill health
* Nurture hope and self-determination to inspire the people that you support to move forward with their lives
* Draw on your lived experience and personal journey towards recovery through many of your conversations with consumers and the team.
Skills & Experience
1. Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment).
2. Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as significant periods of healing and personal recovery.
3. Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
4. Thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, policies, and procedures
