Security Controller Role

Security Controllers are entrusted with upholding the firm's foundational values: partnership, client service, integrity and excellence. They are expected to consistently demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism in conduct, personal presentation and all communications, taking full accountability for their actions. Successful Controllers are critical thinkers who proactively exercise sound judgment, considering the implications of their decisions. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of the firm and its personnel, guided by the firm's four strategic pillars.

Shift Timings

Rotational Day and Night – 6 AM to 6 PM / 6 PM to 6 AM, 4 on / 4 off

Key Responsibilities / Primary Areas of Focus

* People Protection: Ensuring the safety of all firm's personnel, including travelers and those attending events.
* Physical Security: Guaranteeing that the firm's facilities provide a safe and secure environment for both employees and visitors.
* Fire Life Safety: Implementing effective systems and processes to minimise the impact of fire and other life‐safety events.
* Crisis Management: Monitoring and minimising threats to the firm's people, reputation and business operations.
* Operational Oversight: Provide comprehensive support for daily operations of the site and team, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
* System Management & Maintenance: Proactively execute daily system checks, monitor security systems and efficiently resolve issues, communicating promptly with stakeholders.
* Training & Preparedness: Participate in standard operating procedure training and drills to uphold readiness and response standards.
* Safety & Crisis Management: Demonstrate commitment to ensuring the safety of all personnel and effective crisis management, including leading and taking initiative during critical situations.
* Incident Response & Documentation: Respond promptly to security incidents, document all actions taken and produce accurate, timely reports for post‐incident analysis and compliance.

Incident Management Expectations

* Identification: Accurately identify the nature and scope of an incident using all available information (alarm details, CCTV footage, incoming calls, etc.).
* Escalation: Promptly inform relevant stakeholders following established escalation protocols.
* Response: Establish ground truth, deploy resources to address the threat immediately and effectively.
* Control: Manage the incident effectively with priority on people's safety and minimising business impact.
* Recovery: Document actions, create an appropriate timeline of events and outcomes for compliance and continuous improvement.

* Ability to identify and assess incidents quickly and accurately.
* Strong escalation, coordination and communication skills.
* Proficiency in control and mitigation of security incidents.
* Experience with incident documentation and post‐incident reporting.

Position Requirements

* Certificate II in Security Operations.
* Current VIC Security License.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Background clearance (financial, employment, residential, ID and criminal history checks).
