Due to consistent growth, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to support our team and keep our plant running safely and reliably.
This is a hands on industrial maintenance role focused on preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with production, QA and our on site electrician to ensure equipment uptime, safe operation and compliance in a food manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities Preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs across production equipment and site services Maintain and repair machinery including: fillers, mixers, mincers, smokehouses, thermoformer, conveyors, tumblers, injectors plus compressors, boilers and refrigeration interfaces Hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics (pumps, valves, hoses, pressure testing and safe replacement) Overhauls and component rebuilds (bearings, seals, gearboxes, drives, pumps) Equipment strip down/clean down support and "audit ready" maintenance practices Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and parts usage Coordinate contractors when required and help manage critical spares Support WHS, GMP/HACCP and food safety standards at all times What we're looking for Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent 3+ years industrial maintenance experience (food manufacturing or FMCG highly regarded) Strong fault finding skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance Sound understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics and safe systems of work Able to work independently, prioritise jobs and communicate clearly with operations Physically fit and comfortable working in a production environment (including chilled areas) Highly regarded Basic fabrication/welding skills Exposure to HACCP/GMP environments and audit readiness What we offer Permanent full time role with long term stability Supportive team culture and a safety first workplace Opportunity to play a key role in reliability and continuous improvement Career opportunities - Work with a growing manufacturer supplying major customers Ready to apply?
