About the Role
The Crew Member – Waste Collection contributes to the delivery of the City’s waste management service deliverables, providing waste management and street cleaning services to a high standard as directed
The role will also:
- Undertake various responsibilities within the broader waste management crew including the operation of side arm or rear loader rubbish trucks, road sweepers and backpack mounted hand blowers.
- Participate in job rotation in accordance with the multi skilled requirements of the team, as and when directed by the Coordinator or Supervisor.
- Attend and contribute to regular toolbox meetings to keep updated on safety procedures, legislative changes and relevant training as required.
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have:
- Working knowledge of Waste Management practices, procedures and operations
- Ability to operate plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and safe work practices
- Demonstrated ability in operation and basic maintenance of a compactor refuse truck and road sweeper (desirable)
- Current HR class Driver’s Licence (essential)
- White Card
- Basic Traffic Management
