Program Leader Strategic Planning
The City Planning branch at Blue Mountains City Council is responsible for delivering high‑quality strategic land‑use planning in a World Heritage Area with over twenty‑five towns and villages.
* Lead and contribute to key projects across the City Planning service, including the Local Strategic Planning Statement, town centre master plans, and strategic planning policies.
* Prepare and amend the Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan.
* Manage master planning work for key centres, LEP amendments, and DCP updates.
* Advocate and coordinate with council groups and external agencies to achieve strategic planning objectives.
* Supervise a small team and provide strong people‑management and community engagement.
Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in town planning or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated high level of experience in developing strategic land‑use plans and policies, master plans, and LEP/DCP amendments.
* Passion for community engagement and customer service.
* Strong people‑management skills to lead a small team.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $125,811 gross per annum, 12% superannuation, performance payment 1%–3.5% of salary, and annual award increase.
