Cadet Civil Engineer role at Careers at Council .
Location: Casino, New South Wales. This cadetship develops skills and knowledge of engineering principles through university studies and practical workplace experience, under the guidance of engineering professionals. The program focuses on investigations, design, project management, construction and maintenance, asset management and other engineering activities.
Responsibilities
* Apply engineering principles to support and manage the delivery of projects in line with Council's strategic and operational objectives. Gain experience in investigations, design, project management, construction and maintenance, asset management, operations, and other activities related to engineering services in local government.
* Provide written reports on work-related matters, manage up, and ensure all project documentation is produced to required standards.
* Provide factual, timely and accurate advice, information and recommendations to council staff to facilitate decision-making processes.
* Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications and other documentation required for project delivery.
* Evaluate and mitigate the impact of works on the public and initiate and encourage innovative work practices while maximising resource utilisation.
Qualifications / What we are looking for
* Eligibility for admission to a relevant bachelor's degree
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Enthusiasm for the civil engineering industry with a roads focus and a desire to learn and grow
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
Role Details
Full time : 70-hour fortnight
Salary : Range from $64,651 to $101,883 per annum + 12% super
