Primary objective
Lead and manage the business administration team to provide strategic, technical and timely administration and corporate
governance support across the Region. Drive continuous improvement by identifying short, medium and long‐term business
challenges and coordinate solutions that deliver successful outcomes aligned to divisional objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality business and people management support to the Business Manager, Executive Director, Directors
and staff across the Division/Region.
2. Lead, supervise and mentor business support staff, fostering a collaborative, high‐performance culture.
3. Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support integrated service delivery and
operational effectiveness.
4. Undertake research and analysis to provide evidence‐based advice, identify risks, develop solutions, and support
best‐practice service delivery.
5. Provide accurate advice on operational, administrative and governance matters, ensuring compliance with NTPS and
agency requirements.
6. Manage change initiatives using departmental change management methodologies to support cultural alignment and
improved service delivery.
7. Develop, implement and review processes, policies and procedures to enhance business administration efficiency,
including procurement, recruitment, information management and records management.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people
from diverse cultures.
2. Strong people leadership capability including supervision, coaching and mentoring in culturally diverse environments.
3. Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop solutions to complex administrative and
governance issues.
4. Proven ability to implement business process improvements, undertake gap analysis and support organisational change
initiatives.
5. High level of integrity, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
6. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and contemporary project management and communication software.
7. Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, workforce management, business planning and change management.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in business administration, business management, finance, accounting or related field.
2. Having the willingness and ability to undertake intrastate travel via commercial aircraft, 4WD vehicles or light planes,
including overnight stays in remote locations as necessary.
