A well-established financial services sponsor is seeking to appoint a senior investment leader to scale a fund that it launched in 2024.
The fund specialises in investing in the structured asset-backed debt of non-bank lenders and other financial services platforms, with a flexible mandate within the sector. Since inception, the fund has delivered net IRRs >12% p.a. and grown to c. $100m in size. The fund forms part of a broader investment platform that together manages more than $9 billion of assets, which is led by an experienced team with long-term track record in this investment strategy.
This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated investment vehicle, building on strong foundations from which to grow, including a high-quality returns track record, access to capital, investment momentum and the backing of a proven sponsor that incubates fund managers.
Candidate Profile
This role is for a senior investment professional with demonstrated track record across investment origination, transaction structuring and portfolio management in asset-backed finance. Prior investment experience with mezzanine and junior debt investing in private warehouse facilities, structured holding company facilities and/or fund finance would be preferred. This may come from funds management and non-bank environments, structured finance or financing solutions teams within investment banks or domestic banks’ securitisation teams. Other backgrounds will also be considered.
The candidate will likely have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience. The role will be based in Melbourne.
Key to the role will be entrepreneurial drive, with a deep curiosity and passion for investing and comfort in operating in a dynamic environment. The candidate would be excited by the prospect of leading the disciplined growth of an agile fund manager within the firm’s broader stable.
