About the opportunity
TAFE Gippsland is seeking a highly organised and proactive Program Coordinator to join our Campus Planning and Delivery Team and play a key role in delivering the TAFE Gippsland Digital Hub. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark project that will support the establishment of a world-class renewable energy training and community facility in Gippsland.
Reporting to the Manager Campus Planning and Delivery, you will provide high-level project coordination, governance, reporting and contract administration support across a complex project involving planning, design, construction, commissioning and educational delivery readiness. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and government representatives, you will help ensure the successful delivery of this strategically significant initiative.
About the TAFE Gippsland Digital Hub
The TAFE Gippsland Digital Hub is a flagship project that will support the delivery of the Victorian Renewable Energy TAFE Centre of Excellence. Announced in April 2026, the Centre of Excellence is backed by a $50 million investment from the Australian and Victorian Governments and will position Gippsland as a national leader in renewable energy training. A central component of the initiative is the creation of a $15 million Renewable Energy Digital Training and Community Centre at TAFE Gippsland's Morwell campus.
The Digital Hub will include:
* Digitally enabled classrooms and collaborative learning spaces
* A research and innovation laboratory
* Virtual reality and simulation technologies
* Industry-standard training environments
* Community engagement facilities
The Hub will support the development of innovative training products focused on smart grids, transmission infrastructure, home electrification and other emerging renewable energy technologies.
About you
You are an experienced project or program coordinator with strong analytical, organisational and communication skills. You have a structured approach to work, excellent attention to detail and the ability to synthesise complex information into clear, accurate and decision‐ready reports. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders, consultants and contractors, and you can manage competing priorities while operating with a high degree of autonomy. Experience supporting capital works, infrastructure or construction projects will be highly regarded.
Qualifications and experience
* Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business, Public Administration or a related discipline (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated experience in project, program, PMO, contract or grants coordination roles
* Experience preparing reports and governance documentation for senior stakeholders
* Experience working in government or regulated environments is desirable
* Experience supporting complex capital works, infrastructure or construction projects is highly desirable
* Experience working with consultants, contractors and external delivery partners is highly regarded
Key knowledge and skills
* Strong understanding of project and program management principles
* Familiarity with contract administration processes
* Excellent written communication and analytical skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools
* Ability to interpret complex information and provide practical recommendations
* Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
* Understanding of capital works and construction project delivery principles
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
Mandatory requirements
* Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
* Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
* Current Driver's Licence
