We are seeking a Project Engineer. This is a fulltime role predominantly as a project engineer.

Optimum Grain Silos and Augers is an Australian family-owned business in an exciting period of expansion. Established in 1996 Optimum has sustainably grown as an installation and manufacturing business. In 2023 Optimum purchased its supplier of Grain Silos, 'SilOz' previously 'Cyclone Silos', allowing Optimum to Design, Manufacture and install full Grain Storage and Handling projects.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the on-site construct process with an invovlement in design and manufacturing process for Grain Handling and Storage Projects.

The Project Engineer will work with a design engineers and site crews to coordinate the design, manufacture and installation of turnkey Grain Handling and Storage Facilities.

The Project Engineer will provide a high level of organisation for project, from manufacturing to logistics. Supervising on-site set outs and ensuring quality throughout the construction process. Have the ability to run Dry and Wet commisioning phases. We expect a level of invovlement with technical leadership and contribute to the development of design basis and standard product design procedures to integrate into our ERP systems. Additionally, the will play a critical role in supporting product development ensuring standardisation across designs and optimising existing product designs.

About the Role

* Lead the on-site constuction process for grain handling and storage projects, ensuring that all components meet design specifications, Australian Standards and performance requirements.
* Have a high level of planning, orginsational skiils and recorded keeping. Using this infomation to make informed desicions to improve our product especially around installation effecicenty.
* Validate designs against industry standards and safety regulations, ensuring technical integrity of all components being installed correctly.
* Collaborate with the other Engineers and Draftsman (internal and external) to ensure that designs meet performance requirements in the real world.
* Develop and review design criteria based on client specifications, contributing to the development of the design basis for various projects.
* Collaborate with the other engineers and designers to develop and review detailed design calculations and 3D models, participate in design reviews and the risk assessment process.
* Use Inventor, AutoCAD, and other design software to develop and refine designs.
* Provide technical support to stakeholders ensuring alignment with project objectives.
* Contribute to the development of a standard procedure for building models and completing engineering efficiently for standard products.
* Support product development contributing to the development of design basis and standard product design procedures as well as assisting with completion of project documentation.
* Help identify areas for product and systems optimisation and contribute to the development of a standard procedure for future product development.
* Support stakeholders, procurement, and service teams, by providing technical input.

About You

* Bachelor or master's in mechanical engineering.
* 10 + years' post qualification experience.
* Abiliy to get the best out of muilple teams.
* Proficiency in software such as, Inventor, AutoCAD, CAD and Space GASS tools.
* Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work alone and produce and outcome from concept to finished product installed.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Desire to travel in regional Australia.
* Previous experience with bulk materials handling equipment design would be advantageous, particularly Grain or soft commodities.
* High level of attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
* Analytical and innovative.
* Competency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

Regionally based role. Ideally based in Wagga Wagga NSW however possibly based in Young NSW or Albury NSW
