Full‑time Assistant Manager – Subiaco Hotel (a flagship venue of the LocalsCo Group).
The Subi is a multifaceted hospitality enterprise with three busy bars, a thriving functions business and a casual premium pub‑restaurant. The venue provides an authentic, high‑quality pub experience with a wide drinks selection and elevated food offerings. The Subiaco Hotel has been a community landmark for generations and has recently undergone a major refresh to return to its roots as Subiaco's Pub.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to help run this busy venue. You will ensure we deliver a high standard of professional service while maintaining our casual atmosphere and approachable approach. Your responsibilities include training, developing, and managing casual staff in food and beverage delivery, overseeing cash handling, staff rostering, and maintaining a superior customer experience. All managers are expected to be hands‑on and lead by example.
Key Responsibilities
* Run the bars and restaurant during lunch and dinner services.
* Lead large teams of salaried and casual staff per service.
* Ensure front‑line teams always provide welcoming, outstanding service.
* Promote a culture of fun, customer engagement, retention and strong loyalty through innovative, targeted initiatives that maintain venue popularity year‑round.
* Maintain a high standard of venue presentation and attention to detail.
* Apply solid understanding of high‑volume food and beverage outlets.
* Train staff in customer engagement and sales.
* Comprehend labour targets, rostering and calendar coordination of functions and events.
* Assist the Venue Manager and 2IC in managing the functions calendar.
Staff Management
* Conduct inductions and ongoing training for new staff.
* Plan and execute breaks for front‑of‑house and supervisory staff.
* Monitor and enforce customer‑service standards as provided by FOH staff.
* Ensure FOH staff and supervisors complete checklists and maintain quality standards.
* Undertake RSA training and comply with RSA legal obligations.
* Enforce systems, policies, and procedures during shifts.
* Plan, monitor, and appraise shift job results.

* Excellent time‑management and multitasking skills.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship skills.
* Flexible availability to suit the needs of a hospitality business.
* Competent IT skills.
* Permanent visa holders and Australian residents welcome – potential for sponsorship.
* RSA and approved manager red card.
