About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of physical asset and capital works projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from early concept and definition through to construction‐ready investment decisions and delivery, supporting our clients port asset investment program.
Working across multiple stakeholders and disciplines, you will provide end‐to‐end project leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with strategic, financial, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
* Provide core project leadership, management, development, and delivery services for a portfolio or program of physical asset projects.
* Contribute to project planning, identification, selection, and prioritisation activities across the asset investment lifecycle.
* Liaise closely with Study Managers, Planners, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure feasibility and definition requirements are met, and lead execution through to successful delivery.
* Define project opportunities or issues, including scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
* Contribute to the development and ongoing management of the Asset Investment Program in collaboration with the Manager Asset Development and Delivery.
* Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, including business case development, design, procurement, construction, and handover.
* Ensure compliance with PMO frameworks, contract management systems, corporate policies, and all statutory requirements, with a strong focus on safety and environmental protection.
* Manage capital investment, including preparing budget proposals, monitoring expenditure, and recommending budget adjustments as required.
* Lead and motivate high‐performing project teams and manage external consultants and contractors.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Project Management (or a related discipline).
* A minimum of 5 years' proven senior‐level project management experience, with exposure to all stages of the project management lifecycle.
* At least 5 years' experience working with business stakeholders in a multi‐disciplinary or cross‐functional environment.
* Demonstrated success in delivering projects and programmes on time, on budget, and within scope.
* Strong contract management experience, including superintendency experience with AS4000 and bespoke construction and works contracts.
* Proven ability to lead, influence, and develop high‐performing teams.
* High level of technical competency with project and business software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
* Significant hands‐on experience with project planning and scheduling tools, with a solid track record of practical application.
* Experience negotiating and managing vendor and contractor agreements.
