Experience with cryogenic systems is an advantage, but in-house training will be provided.

About the role:

Bigweld is seeking a Cryogenic Pump Technician to join our growing team in Braemar, NSW. As our Cryogenic Pump Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient filling of cryogenic gas cylinders, performing routine maintenance on cryogenic equipment, and ensuring smooth operations at our gas manufacturing and refilling facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally with hands-on experience in cryogenics, pumps, or similar equipment. This role requires an individual with a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Extensive in-house training will be provided to ensure familiarity with cryogenic systems and the safe handling of materials.

Key responsibilities:

* Safely operate machinery for the production and storage of liquified gases
* Oversee the delivery and dispensing of liquified gases
* Perform installation and regular maintenance on cryogenic pumps and filling equipment, including routine checks and repairs
* Prepare and maintain accurate records of maintenance and analysis of operating performance
* Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area
* Provide technical support and guidance to team members regarding the safe handling and maintenance of cryogenic systems
* Assist with occasional warehouse tasks, such as cylinder movement, inventory management, and equipment organisation

What we're looking for:

* 1+ years experience as a mechanic or similar role is highly desirable
* Basic mechanical skills and a background in mechanical or electrical engineering are preferred but transferable skills from relevant work experience will also be considered
* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and accuracy
* Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects
* Reliable, hard-working, and eager to learn new skills in a specialised field
* Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
