Volunteer Visitor – Aged Care
Here at St John Queensland, we are looking for volunteers to join our government funded ACVVS (Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme). Our volunteers are the heart of this program, we'll support you every step of the way and match you on general interest to ensure long lasting friendships. We're looking for kind‑hearted individuals to visit aged care facilities for one hour, once a fortnight in the Caboolture area.
These visits could include:
* Having a cup of tea
* Getting involved in a simple activity together
* Reading
* Singing along to music
* Having a yarn
Requirements:
* Must be over the age of 18
* Willingness to undergo a free national police check
* Committed for the long run
* Be patient, compassionate and a good listener
Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months
Time required: 1 hour, once a fortnight
