Green Agribusiness Pty Ltd is an Australian family-owned pork production business based in Cushnie QLD 4608, committed to animal welfare and the production of high quality and sustainable pork.
**About the role**
The role will require you to manage, supervise and undertake specified pork breeding and production techniques, methods and control procedures concerned with the operation of the piggery, and to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workplace for the protection of the health and welfare of employees and piggery livestock at all times.
**Responsibilities, tasks & duties include**:
- Maintaining a high-quality environment for the welfare and well-being of stock and ensuring Bio Security requirements are met;
- Production management/supervision;
- Reporting;
- Staff supervision and training;
- Quality control;
- Workplace health & safety;
- Animal welfare;
- Building & equipment;
- Site and services;
- Supervising and participating in the daily inspection of livestock, so that their needs are met, and environmental parameters are filled;
- Tend to routine husbandry of all stock;
- Supervision of data collection and accuracy in recording to aid stock and inventory control;
- Provide overall maintenance and compliance of the Company Quality Assurance Program for the site ensuring that all relevant documentation is kept current;
- Supervise less experienced Stockperson(s);
- Participate in company and industry training sessions and workshops as required.
**Skills and experience**
Applicants **MUST** have the following qualifications and recent employment experience:
- Bachelor degree qualification in agriculture, animal science, animal husbandry;
- Minimum 5 years recent experience in medium/large commercial piggery;
- Sound communication and effective time management skills;
- A current driver's license (_preferred_);
- A preparedness to work flexible hours (including rostered weekends and public holidays);
- Be physically fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the role, which includes working with animals and manual handling tasks including lifting;
- Have a positive attitude towards the intrinsic values of trust, integrity, agility, quality, innovation, and unity;
- Hold a current driver's license
Base salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 plus superannuation.
