Purpose of the Position
The Community Liaison Officer will support the implementation of the Goldfields Region Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicide prevention plan. This position does not have any direct service functions to individuals.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in ATSI primary health and/or mental health and/or community services and/or Certificate IV in training and assessment or equivalent training or experience.
* Must be currently enrolled and studying in any of these fields if not yet qualified.
* Aboriginality is an essential criterion and is provided for in accordance with section 50(d) of the Equal Chance Act 1984 (WA).
Experience
* Experience working with ATSI people and families in communities in times of Grief and Loss and suicide prevention.
* Robust knowledge and sense of awareness of Aboriginal culture and history; knowledge of current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people.
* Willingness to facilitate and support training across the Goldfields region.
Requirements
* Current C-Class Driver's License.
* Work with a WWC (Work with Children) check.
* National Criminal History Check.
