About this role
As a Theatre Orderly, you will work under the supervision of the recovery Team Leader and Theatre Coordinator, providing critical support in the day to day running of our theatre suite. You will assist in the safe transportation and positioning of patients, maintain a clean and safe environment, and ensure that all equipment is properly handled and stored. Your role will be central to ensuring a smooth, safe and efficient theatre environment for both patients and staff.
Hours
* Permanent Part-Time
* 0.8 FTE = 60 hours per fortnight
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients to and from the operating theatre and within the theatre suite
* Ensure the safe procurement, handling, cleanliness and correct storage of peri-operative equipment
* Maintain a clean and sterile environment throughout the theatre suite and assist in cleaning and restocking theatre areas before and after procedures
* Support the recovery team by ensuring patient recovery areas are well stocked and clean, assisting in patient care under the supervision of registered nurses
* Complete routine checks and reports on theatre and recovery room supplies, ensuring equipment and resources are always in place and available
About You
* Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred but not essential
* Ability to assist with lifting and moving patients and equipment in a fast-paced environment
* Clear and effective communication with all team members to ensure smooth theatre operations
* Must demonstrate high level of dedication to patient safety, hygiene and overall theatre cleanliness
