Cranfield Recruitment has partnered with a well-established manufacturing business based in Yatala, seeking an experienced Service Mechanical Manager to lead and oversee all plant, equipment, and facility maintenance operations.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring asset reliability, minimising downtime, and driving preventative maintenance strategies across a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
About the Role
Reporting into senior leadership and working closely with the Production Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Managing and maintaining all manufacturing plant and industrial machinery
* Oversight of facility and site infrastructure maintenance
* Developing and executing preventative and corrective maintenance programs
* Improving asset reliability, uptime, and overall plant performance
* Contractor and service provider management
* Ensuring all plant, equipment, and maintenance activities meet WHS and safety compliance
* Maintenance cost control, budgeting, and asset lifecycle planning
* Capital works, asset planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Utilising CMMS systems (MEX or similar) to manage maintenance schedules and reporting
Key Skills & Experience
* Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical
* Strong background in manufacturing / industrial maintenance environments
* Proven experience managing heavy machinery and plant equipment
* Solid understanding of preventative maintenance and reliability engineering
* Strong WHS knowledge and contractor management experience
* Exposure to CMMS systems (MEX highly regarded)
* PLC fault-finding experience desirable
* Capital works, shutdowns, or project experience highly regarded
* Ability to collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime
