We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join Renal Services South.

The Team:

Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, and Renal Services South is the Level 6 Renal unit for Tasmania, encompassing all renal services except acute transplant surgery. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

Renal Services South encompasses Nephrology South (24 chairs), Karingal Home Dialysis Education centre (10 chairs), Acute Nephrology (4 chairs) and self-care centres at Glenorchy, Clarence and New Norfolk. It has established transplant (kidney and pancreas) and supportive care pathways (with dedicated nursing staff in all specialist areas).

The Role:

The Nurse Unit Manager provides leadership to the Renal Unit and ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within the Renal Unit.

You will need:
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in Renal Nursing.
* Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including clinical governance; clinical risk management; evidence based practice; research; clinical standards; ethics; and legislation.
* Leadership skills - Individuals will demonstrate capability to promote a shared vision and purpose, and positively influence others (internally and externally) to ensure optimal client outcomes and build a culture of success, commitment, and active contribution by all staff within the practice area.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from the 27 March 2026 for up period up to nine (9) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$134,109 to $140,384 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordancewith Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
