Swine Production Specialist
Operate a farm with the primary responsibility of managing all aspects of swine production, including breeding, gestation, farrowing, weaning, and post-weaning piglet rearing.
Job Description:
* Implement effective management practices to ensure efficient swine production operations.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and buyers.
* Manage animal welfare by adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily operations of the farm, including feeding, health monitoring, and maintenance.
* Plan and implement breeding programs to optimize genetic diversity and herd performance.
* Develop and manage budgets for feed, supplies, and other operational costs.
* Maintain accurate records of production data, animal health, and financial transactions.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in swine production management, preferably in a similar role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Animal Science or related field.
* Experience with livestock software and technology.
* Knowledge of animal nutrition and dietetics.
* Fluency in English and/or Spanish.
